Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Clr Pierre Esber, will retire from the City of Parramatta after 25 years service.

First elected in 1999, Clr Esber served as Councillor for Lachlan Macquarie Ward, and then Dundas Ward following the change in council boundaries in 2015. He was elected Lord Mayor in September 2023.

"It has been an absolute honour to serve as Lord Mayor of the City of Parramatta. I have spent my life in Parramatta. I was born in Parramatta Hospital, I grew up in North Parramatta and raised a family in Oatlands" he said.

"I am proud of my achievements as a Councillor and as Lord Mayor. But after 25 years, I am looking forward to new challenges".
